Glenn Vilppu's Constructive Anatomy, December 17, 2019

Today’s session was the 12th and final of this semester’s course. It’s been very interesting, partly because of Mr. Vilppu’s knowledge and teaching finesse, partly because the models have all been fantastic. 

But mostly because I, a 60 year old man who is really feeling his age, am inspired by how Glenn gets around so well for a man in his 80’s. I’ve been too scared to go on his various sketch tours of Europe and Japan; I wouldn’t be able to keep up, I have the ankles of an 80 year old man. But Glenn is in his 80’s and HE can do it, Hell, he’s the tour guide. And not only physically but artistically; as far as I can tell, he’s in full command of his mojo, art-wise.

I’m also inspired by how he works it, as a self-supporting artist, as an independent publisher, entrepreneur, salesman (of himself, his brand and his products), and networker.

Today was the 9th class session of Glenn Vilppu’s “Constructive Anatomy” masterclass at the Animation Guild Local 839 headquarters in Burbank, California. As alway, the model was excellent- great body, fantastic poses. Her name is Aurora, and her Instagram handle is #figurativelyaurora.

Finally, I’m caught up and can post the remaining 4 sessions of Glenn Vilppu’s master class, “Constructive anatomy” as they are completed (and scanned and prepped). The model for September 19, 2019 was good, as all the models for the class have been. Interesting bodies, great poses. My kudos to whoever it is at the Animation Guild who books the models for this class.

This week’s model goes under the monikers, “Strange Dave” and “Artmodel Dave”. His Instagram tag is #artmodeldave.

This is post #8 of drawings done during Glenn Vilppu's class, "Constructive Anatomy". I am now completely caught up for the first 7 class sessions. The next class session on will be on November 19th 2019, and will bear that date as part of the title name, even if it takes me a day or two for scanning and prepping before I post.
