This is blog #34 of my on-going series sharing pages from the scrap book of Minnie Holsinger, which she compiled in the 30s and 40s while she and Grandfather Charlie Holsinger were scrimping and saving to buy a farm.
This is the cover image to Country Gentleman Magazine, April 1940. It is by William Meade Prince, a frequent occupant of that plum position, and the second by the artist that I’ve found in Grandma Minnie’s scrap book.
He committed suicide by shooting himself in November, 1951. I find this sad, purely for selfish reasons; he was quite good. On the other hand, he must have had his reasons, lost in the depths of time…
