I recently watched “Kings Road”, starring Ann Southern, Robert Cummings and Ronald Reagan, directed by Sam Wood. The story and acting was so so, but the production design (by William Cameron Menzies) and cinematography (by James Wong Howe) was striking. Since I was laid off for 2 weeks prior to my ankle surgery I decided to indulge myself and sketch the cool compositions. I made it about 20 minutes into the movie before I ran out of gas.
