When I drew this page I hadn’t yet seen “Robin’s Reckoning”, the two-part origin of Robin serialized in season 1 of the Batman Animated TV series. It was only last week that I watched it for the first time on DVD. It was there that I learned that Tony Zucco, seen here in panels 2 and 3, not only murdered Dick Grayson’s parents, but that Dick KNEW it. Yeow! Ed Brubaker, you heartless bastard. LOL. Actually that lack of sentimentality is what gives Ed writing such heft, makes it cut, so to speak.
I am serially posting each page from Gotham Adventures #33, published by DC Comics in February, 2001. I will be posting Ed Brubaker’s script, my roughs, pencils and printed versions of each page. This is day 15, page 15
