Well, I’m back with the smart-ass terse word balloons.with page 14 I don’t why I clammed up in my roughs for pages 10 through 13 and started in again here.
I c.c.’d Bob Schreck, the editor, and Ed Brubaker, the writer, on my rough layouts for “World Without Batman”. Bob just as uncommunicative as he had been when editing “The Mark In America” for Dark Horse in the mid-90’s. On that previous series I asked, given his lack of response, if I should bother sending him roughs at all. Bob ethusiastiicly assured me that he loved seeing artist’s roughs.
Ed was much more collaborative and I ended up treating him as my editor, especially on “Catwoman”. I mention this because, as I said, the only person who seemed to be paying any attention to my roughs was Ed, the writer, who I was unconciously ribbing with my smart-ass condensed word balloons.
I am serially posting each page from Gotham Adventures #33, published by DC Comics in February, 2001. I will be posting Ed Brubaker’s script, my roughs, pencils and printed versions of each page. This is day 14, page 14. All posts in this series are archived on my website blog, http://blog.raderofthelostart.com
