"The Third Door", Batman Adventures 6, pages4 and 5

I’m continuing to post, in serialize fashion, the rough pages, along with the final printed pages (and the original if I have them) to my three issue run on Batman Adventures. Today we’ll look at pages 4 and 5 of Batman Adventures #6, published by DC Comics in March 1993. The Story is called “The Third Door”, and it’s written by Kelly Puckett, pencilled by me, inked by Rick Burchett, Colored by Rick Taylor, lettered by Tim Harkins and edited by Scott Peterson.

More Hitchcokian high jinks in page 4, panel 1 as Tippi Hendren slaps Sir Alfred in the face for tormenting her durning the filming of “The Birds” and “Marnie”.

Re: page 5: check out the difference between the roughs and the finish in the order of panels 4 through 6 (it’s reversed in the finish; or I should say it’s reversed in the rough. I  was playing around with “eye read”. I thought the the reader’s eye would be more attracted by Bruce’s action than the traditional “left-to-right” of western reading direction. The editor, Scott Peterson, disagreed and insisted that I get with the program. He was probably right.
