Weird Mystery #1/ Kopying Kirby

On September 7, I posted a drawing from a sketchbook I was keeping in the summer of 1992, shortly before or during my stint on drawing issues 4, 5 and 6 of “The Batman Adventures”. I was heavily into  Jack Kirby at this point and was copying his artwork. In recent weeks, I have posted several Kirby Kopies I drew that summer, including this drawing. I erred in thinking that a written admission on my part that these WERE copies would be enough. However, some of the reactions lead me to believe that some people think the drawings are all mine. To correct this false impression, I’m providing scans of the source material to one of my copies, ‘Weird Mystery’ #1.
In my defense, I’m not the only artist in my group to cop this drawing. Bruce Timm and Glen Murakami repurposed it for their story in Batman Adventures Annual #2 (in which the TV version of Batman teams up with the Demon). I take a certain amount of credit for this since I flashed Weird Mystery #1 in front of them when we were working on the Batman Animated TV series together in 1992.
