The writer, Mike Barr didn’t have my problem with
Helda’s miraculous escape from the exploding commuter bus. He just shrugged
(over the phone) when pressed on the matter, like it didn’t need explaining. He
seemed bemused that I would even ask. I found it puzzling that the editor, Bob
Schreck, let it go through, since I had a real problem with it.
I like the third panel a lot, the way it telescopes a
great deal of information into on panel, organized to take advantage of the
Western left-to-right eye read.
This is page 24 for "The Mark" issue 3,
volume 2, otherwise known as "The Mark In America", published by Dark
Horse Comics in February 1994. Written by Mike Barr, Drawn by Brad Rader. It will be the last "Mark" page until May 1st, when I begin posting the art for "The Mark" 4, final issue of this mini-series.
