MY COLLECTION #33

This was a gift by the artist, Armando Gil, in the late 90s, when we were working together at Sony Animation, I as a director, he as a storyboard clean-up artist. I had been aware of his work as a comicbook inker since his byline started appearing in the late 70’s. I was totally blown away by his storyboard cleans when he appeared in Los Angeles in the mid 90s, when I was doing my first directing gig on “Captain Simian and the Space Monkey’s” for Epoch Ink. I was really jealous of my co-director Dave Schwartz, who got the bulk of Armando’s efforts for the studio.
